by Lucy Maude Montgomery
Summary: Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, a brother and sister living on Prince Edward Island, decide to adopt an orphan boy to help them run their family farm. They are quite suprised when Anne Shirley, a fiesty, red-headed girl arrives instead.
Thoughts: This classic novel is a true treasure. I recently listened to the audio version and fell in love with it all over again. The charming setting, delightful characters, and lovely language are worth revisiting again and again. I have since listened to the sequel, Anne of Avonlea, and am currently waiting for the third novel to arrive at the library! If you haven't read it or haven't read it in a while, definitely add it to your list.
