I couldn’t move, I could barely breathe, and all the lights in my house were ablaze, illuminating the dark threads of this unnerving tale. St. James’ masterful writing kept me glued to the pages; her characters are richly drawn, each with their own fears and secrets. The atmosphere is so palpably creepy that I found myself thinking I’d be happier on a brisk hike through the woods—anything but facing the ghosts of Sun Down Motel!
Carly and Viv share an achingly relatable bravery and an unyielding desire for truth, making them characters I wanted to root for wholeheartedly.
